This page shows a list of all Asian state leaders in 2021. Of the 43 countries in Asia, seven are ruled by monarchs. Bahrain, Bangladesh, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates are governed by a Sheikh. Saudi Arabia and Jordan have a king as their heads of state that controls either the legislative or executive branch of the country. The countries of Bhutan, Cambodia, Japan, Malysia and Thailand also have a monarch but with limited powers and not in the function of a state leader.
